  • Even 30 years later, Sanson marrying Marie in the Distant Epilogue and getting her pregnant unsurprisingly remains one of, if not the most controversial, narrative choice of the show's closing arc.
  • Similarly, Electra and Nemo having gotten-together off-screen between the end of the Nautilus arc and sired a child. It comes out of nowhere (as that development wasn't dramatized and doesn't feel earned). But even if it was earned, it contradicts how Nemo explicitly saw Electra as a surrogate daughter.
  • The Blue Water resurrecting Jean. Some feel it was a perfect conclusion to Nadia's struggle with the power of the jewel. Others feel it takes Nadia too far into Science Fantasy and contradicts the established Science Fiction elements of the Blue Water and Atlantean technology.
• Narm: Neo's robot body being connected to the Red Noah power grid through his throne. It's fine on paper and in principle...until we see Gargoyle removing the giant plug from the wall socket. At that point, it becomes too silly and completley undermines the drama of Neo's final scene.
