- Harsher in Hindsight: Mark "Charger" McCutchen, who's not-so-subtly based on Dale Earnhardt Jr., is said to have lost his father Junior McCutchen (who was also a famous NASCAR driver) in a horrific airplane crash sometime before the events of the show. In Real Life, Earnhardt's father Dale Earnhardt Sr. was killed in an infamous crash at the Daytona 500 the year after the series began (and it was even seen on Fox, to boot!).
- Hilarious in Hindsight: A NASCAR-themed cartoon airing on FOX wound up ending its run just over a month after FOX began carrying NASCAR coveragenote
- Narm Charm: Yes, it's a sci-fi series about futuristic race car drivers, which doubles as a NASCAR advertisement. Yes, it's just as ridiculous as it sounds. But it's presented with enough heart and earnestness that it's actually pretty charming if you're in the right mindset.
