• Aluminum Christmas Trees: "Minsky" is, fairly obviously, a real sold-in-stores toy robot, Walking Talking Toby (aka Magnetron MT-2 and Robotron RT-2) originally produced by the New Bright company in 1984 and re-released in various colors throughout the 1980s. What might not be readily apparent is that its bizarre, annoying pre-recorded Catchphrase is what the toy actually said. The same voice chip was used in any number of toys (some walked, others didn't) over the course of decades.
• Genius Bonus: The robot Crow and Tom build is named "Minsky". Marvin Minsky is a renowned researcher at MIT. His field? Artificial Intelligence.
