YMMV / Mystery Science Theater 3000 S03 E21: Santa Claus Conquers the Martians

    Servo: "Soon"? What do you mean "soon"?
• Hilarious in Hindsight: Servo jokes that Voldar and his hench-Martians are being portrayed by American politicians... including some guy named "Joseph Biden."
• The Scrappy: The crew greatly despised Dropo and they do little to hide it. By the end all three riffers are explicitly wishing death on him. It applies to real life as well: Mike Nelson once admitted to wishing Dropo dolls existed just so he could light them on fire.
• Special Effect Failure: The show has always had charmingly cheap props and effects, but the Invention Exchange's "Wish Squisher" is hilarious. Frank makes no effort to hide that he is turning the boxes over to allow their contents to magically transform. The boxes clearly have two lids as well. But what really takes the cake is the final transformation of a box into a gift certificate; the box is still completely visible as the certificate is taken out. Of course, considering the effects of the movie they are spoofing, this is probably intentional.
