• Hilarious in Hindsight: Tom Servo's "missing child on a milk carton" costume must have inspired a certain Nicole Polizzi-Lavalle to do the same.
• Ho Yay: "You've said it, my little hard-bodied bachelor friend!"
  • The three main human characters do seem to be a gay couple with an adopted kid.
• Memetic Badass: "Rex Dart, Eskimo Spy!"
• Parody Displacement: The "Orville Popcorn" host segment is a parody of The SFM Holiday Network, a syndicated film program that was a staple of US independent TV stations in The '80s. For a while they had Orville Redenbacher and his twentysomething grandson Gary serve as hosts, with extremely corny host segments that were just extended ads for Orville Redenbacher Popcorn. These days, the host segment is easily more famous than the show it's spoofing.
• Values Dissonance: The whole "Rex Dart, Eskimo Spy" runner would not be acceptable today, as saying a Japanese person looks like an "Eskimo" would be viewed as racist. And that's not even getting into the fact that the term "Eskimo" has itself been viewed as un-PC.
