• Alternative Character Interpretation: Did Twilight really get over freaking out or is she now just doing it internally to avoid worrying her friends?
• Crosses the Line Twice: Tirek steals the magic from various earth ponies, then laughing maniacally as he steals a pie from the food cart.
• Epileptic Trees: The color scheme of the firework troupe leader's mane and coat gave some viewers the idea that she is related to Sunset Shimmer. Given how easily she bought into believing that she can do greater things, which is what pre-Heel–Face Turn Sunset believed...
• They Wasted a Perfectly Good Plot:
  • There are fireworks that need producing but Twilight didn't call Trixie or Tempest Shadow to help.
  • Having Starswirl being part of the audience would have given onscreen closure with his two students.
