• Alternative Character Interpretation: Did Flim and Flam really not remember Rarity just because the last time they saw each other was a long time ago, or did they lie on purpose? Their personalities could suggest latter option.
• Fanfic Fuel: "School Raze" jossed Cosy Glow working with Neighsay, Flim or Flam, so how did Flim and Flam get a hold of Twilight's Friendship lesson book?
• Misaimed Fandom: A number of fans treat Flim and Flam as in the right for charging for supplies and using profits for personal gain as something real life for-profit universities to. This overlooks the fact they advertised their school as having no tuition, yet price-gouged ponies for necessary supplies, while they gave everything away to Starswirl for free so they could keep him enrolled and use his status to exploit other students who wanted to study with him — grossly deceptive by any reasonable standard and contradictory to the mandate of a school of friendship. They were also revealed to be using stolen, plagiarized coursework from Twilight's School of Friendship to do so, a serious academic wrongdoing.
• Unexpected Character: Who expected Chancellor Neighsay to make an appearance in this episode? Or even Tree Hugger in the beginning?
