• Macekre: Unlike most of Voltage USA's other localizations - which, although generally viewed poorly by the fanbase of the original versions, are recognizably adapted from the originals - White Lies & Sweet Nothings resembles My Forged Wedding only in the sense that both games involve pretending to be married.
• Values Dissonance: In Japan it's relatively common to refer to men older than oneself as "Uncle" as the protagonist does Kunihiko. Western players, however, are likely to find it somewhat off-putting that she keeps calling him "Uncle" until the very end of his route, even after their relationship has turned romantic.
