• Designated Hero: Izuku during his fight with Shoto. While it's understandable Izuku was pissed off and has his own issues, the way he absolutely brutalizes Shoto while belittling him makes him come across as no better than how the masses see him. While some of this was intentional on his part, showing people the monster he could be, it's still seen as going way too far against Shoto, pushing him to the point of a mental breakdown all while acting like The Bully.
• Unintentionally Sympathetic: Shoto during his "fight" with Izuku, more accurately a one-sided beating. While it's meant to be Izuku trying to drill into his head how stupid his refusal to use his fire is while showing just how much of a monster he could be, it just comes across as ruthless bullying and cruelty over someone's actions as a result of their own trauma, making Izuku come across as hypocritical for hating Shoto considering all he and the others in Sanctuary have suffered and/or done, and only resulting in driving Shoto into a mental breakdown that nearly kills them both in a manner reminiscent of Toya's near death. Not helping matters is co-author Devil Dragon Stand Knight openly admitting to having fun "knocking Shoto off his high horse" before admitting they may have gone a little too far, making it sound like they just don't like Shoto and brutalized him for "fun".
