- Misaimed Fandom: Extreme Metal fans gravitated towards the band's mixture of Thrash Metal and Progressive Rock, but later accused the band of "going pop" on songs like "Happy?", despite them utilizing the same Progressive Rock influences they've always used in their songs, just with less Harsh Vocals.
- Nightmare Fuel: Most of their early discography consists of this, if not just for the dark, heavy, straight up weird and brutal music, their Monster Clown/ Eldritch Abomination facepaint made them look pure evil on top of it all.
