• Big-Lipped Alligator Moment: You'd think that it would be impossible to have one of these in a video that was already a Bizarro Episode, but Daniel managed to pull it off. Most of the statements made in Am I Really 19?, despite being non-sequiturs, make sense on their own. But at the very end, a boy behind Daniel ^note  possibly also played by Daniel carries a baby while saying, "Do do do do! Super Baby! He can fly in reverse!" while Daniel laughs at the camera. Even by that video's standards, it makes no sense whatsoever.
• Bizarro Episode: Am I Really 19?, which consists of almost nothing but totally random statements made by Daniel.
• Broken Base: Daniel's video criticizing Ian Hecox and Anthony Padilla of Smosh sparked controversy. Some viewers agreed with Daniel, but others sided with Ian and Anthony.
  • Without getting into too much detail, his switch into agnosticism in 2012. Some say this was his Growing the Beard moment. Others say he Took a Level in Jerkass and let's keep it at that.
• Funny Moments: Daniel pretending to have sex with a plush toy of Yoshi.
  • His "Face-Palm Sunday" videos are filled with these as a whole. When an infamous vegan youtuber named Vegan Gains accused Daniel of being God for eating animals and what not, Daniel then had a halo on top of his head while religious music played in the background.
• Harsher in Hindsight: In Am I Really 19?, made in 2010, Daniel starts out the video by saying "Well, hello, my fellow tutti-fruits! I thinks I am going insane.". About 2 years later, Daniel started suffering depression, which is sometimes linked with insanity.
• The Woobie: Daniel mentioned in his video "The Truth Will Set You Free" and "Healing from Sexual Assault" that he was raped when he was sixteen by someone he knew. Admitting this drew the ire of another youtuber who responded negatively in kind, which Daniel addressed in "RE: Truth Will Set You Free...if it's actually TRUE", while sounding so tired and worn-out. It's really heartbreaking to watch and listen to someone trying to reach out to people and other victims of sexual assault, only to be met with scorn.
