YMMV / Mr. Bones

Go To

  • Awesome Music: This game has some great blues guitar played by Ronnie Montrose.
  • Cult Classic: While the game didn't receive a lot of recognition, it's still seen as a hidden gem among Saturn owners for its soundtrack, variety of gameplay, and unique premise.
  • Enjoy the Story, Skip the Game: The games bizarre sense of humor, awesome music, and incredibly endearing protagonist are the main stars of the show. The gameplay of some the levels is good, but most are experimental and frustrating.
  • Narm Charm: The game's story and campy cutscenes, which combines live-action and CGI. The game doesn't take itself too seriously and it's all the better for it.
  • So Bad, It's Good: The campy cutscenes.
  • That One Level: Most of the levels qualify, but special mention goes to The Icy Lake. Mr. Bones needs to make it across an unstable frozen lake that will crack and break, requiring him to stay near shallow areas. Jumping only increases the risk of breaking the ice, and he can only fall in twice before sinking and getting a Game Over. It's a very long level that requires a lot of patience.
