YMMV / Mole's World

Go To

  • Adaptation Displacement: Everyone's at least aware of the game, but some people are still more familiar with the show.
  • Ensemble Dark Horse: Despite being in only a handful of episodes, Ricky and RK are popular amongst much of the fandom.
  • Fandom Rivalry:
    • Initially, Mole's World and Aobi Island's fanbases formed a heated rivalry between each other due to both having a similar gameplay style.
    • Subverted for the Club Penguin fanbase, as both player bases are from very different regions and mostly not aware of each other.
  • First Installment Wins: The first game has more content than the sequel and many people stick to it instead of shifting to the sequel. Characters in the original games are more popular than those in the sequels. Taomee even noticed that Mole's World 2 had less attention and players than the previous game, so they shut down the sequel.
  • Hilarious in Hindsight: The premise of Season 2 episode 28 sounds awfully similar to a scene in an episode of Happy Heroes (another Chinese cartoon) that came after it. The similarities lie in the respective works' episodes featuring a toddler-aged girl with orange hair wanting help to get her kite.
    • In Season 2 episode 28 of Mole's World, Kula befriends a little toddler-aged girl with orange hair after he helps her to recover a kite she got stuck in a tree. Kula eventually starts to worry that hanging around this girl is making him more of a softie in comparsion to his usual villainous self.
    • In Season 8 episode 18 of Happy Heroes, Huo Haha (a villainous mage who is clad in purple like Kula) is practicing being more evil and ruthless when a toddler-aged girl with orange hair asks him if he can get her kite down from a roof. Huo comes very close to hitting the child with his toilet plunger Magic Wand, but the girl grabs it from him and uses it to prop the kite down. The kid then drags Huo with her to play with him, which drains his confidence.
