YMMV / Miraculous Knight

Go To

  • Complete Monster: The Joker is as vile a monster as he is in canon. Already having the crippling of Barbara Gordon and the murder of Jason Todd in the backstory, his obsession with Batman leads him to follow the Dark Knight—who himself was tracking the Riddler—to Paris. In his first act, he crashes a party held by Mayor André Bourgeois, during which he attempts to spray Ladybug with acid. As part of an alliance with the Riddler and Hawk Moth, he's an accessory to the death of Chloé Bourgeois and got his jollies watching Chat Noir's horrified reaction to learning Hawk Moth is his father, Gabriel Agreste. Upon heading back to Gotham City, the Joker and Hawk Moth set Bane loose on the heroes, and after that, he and Hawk Moth ambush the powerless Marinette and Adrien, where he proceeds to rip the Ladybug Miraculous off Marinette's ears and kill Hawk Moth to steal the Cat Miraculous after Hawk Moth stole it from Adrien to get their powers for himself to become a Reality Warper. A sadist, the Joker is a threat to anyone he comes into contact with.
  • Funny Moments: Joker being introduced by channel-surfing and riffing on each one. He finds a soap opera, then a cooking show, then what is implied to be a Marvel film...and then pornography, much to even his horror.
  • Harsher in Hindsight: Lila Rossi here has ended her lying following Volpina, and is among Marinette's friends in class. The story was written between 2016 and 2017, well before the events of the Season 2 finale "Heroes' Day" and the infamous season 3 premiere "Chameleon", where she threaten Marinette to not meddle or she will ruin her life.
  • Signature Scene: Chloe Bourgeois' death scene at the Riddler's hands.
  • Take That, Scrappy!: The death of Chloé Bourgeois at the hand of Riddler because of her Alpha Bitch behavior and constantly causing Akumas in the first season, plus she doesn't become Queen Bee in this series. Later fans also felt catharsis after the events of Miracle Queen in Season 3.
  • Unintentionally Sympathetic: Sure, Chloe may have been quite the Jerkass as was the case in canon, and no different here, but some readers felt quite sorry for her due to getting her head blown off by a cellphone-induced bomb, which is, suffice to say, too much. Even the author themself has come to regret how callously they treated her.
