• Germans Love David Hasselhoff:
  • The French love him, to the point where he recorded a French song called "Elle me dit." It was a huge smash hit.
  • He's also huge in Italy, to the point where he's been a mentor on the Italian version of The X Factor, hosted his own talk show there, and co-hosted the 2022 Eurovision Song Contest in Turin.
  • He's also Big in Japan. "Blame It On the Girls" made him one of only four artists to top the Japan Hot 100. This can even apply to the song itself, since it's rather obscure everywhere else.
• Memetic Mutation: "Relax, take it eaaaaaaaaasy~."
• Nightmare Fuel: The video for "Happy Ending" has some creepy hand-puppets which make singing face which fall into the Unintentional Uncanny Valley, but it also ends in Mika falling into the sun. Which, admittedly, fits quite well with the song's lyrics and tone.
• Periphery Demographic: His fans range from small children to the elderly. It's a good thing his bubblegum pop masks some of the darker lyrics.
• Tear Jerker:
  • "Happy Ending" is anything but, as it's about a painful breakup still lingering on the protagonist's mind.
  • The following (and final) track, "Over My Shoulder", is also really sad too.
