• Animation Age Ghetto: The show was created mainly for adult audiences. However, because it is animated, it is often shown as a children's programme.
• Ensemble Dark Horse: Máris, due to being the Only Sane Man and a Deadpan Snarker, often making sarcastic comments on the Mézgas' bumbling. This is probably the reason why he's promoted to a primary character in the third series.
• Fandom-Enraging Misconception: Referring to MZ/X as "Köbüki". It's a nickname given to Géza by MZ/X (sort of meaning "cubic-great-great-grandpa"). Géza calls MZ/X "Öcsi" ("little brother") instead. Sadly, even the writers of the third series get it wrong in the opening narration of the first episode.
• Germans Love David Hasselhoff: The animation was particularly popular in former Czechoslovakia. It's having reruns even nowadays when the country split in two.
• Hilarious in Hindsight: As an animated comedy show about a Nuclear Family plus an elderly relative with sci-fi elements, some people noted the similarity between this show and Rick and Morty. At least one fan edit spliced the two together.
