  • Accidental Aesop: "Friends" also contains the message that anti-drug legislation prevents people from getting help for fear of being arrested.
  • Alternative Character Interpretation: In "Friends", the friends of the girl suffering from an overdose are meant to be seen as callous because they dumped her unconscious body outside a hospital before driving away, ostensibly because they were scared of getting caught and arrested for doing meth. However, some viewers have pointed out that at least they took her to a hospital, instead of, for example, doing nothing or leaving her in an alley where she could be robbed, sexually assaulted, or worse. So a more charitable interpretation is that maybe they did the best they could in that situation, short of actually making sure she got inside the building and telling doctors what happened to her, and it may have been the most they felt they could do without risking being arrested for their own drug use.note  Notably, a different ad shows a boy passing out from an overdose at a party, while his friends are too strung out on meth to realize or care.
  • First Installment Wins: "Bathtub" is easily the most memorable of the ads.
  • Memetic Mutation: "X. Not even once."note
    • X isn't normal, but on Y it is.note
  • Narm:
    • The boy in "Shadow", when he screams "THEM!" like Cara Cunningham does in the "Leave Brittney Alone" video.
    • The boy's overacting and wild mood swings in "Parents" has been known to provoke laughter.
  • Nightmare Fuel: See the Meth Project's folder under "Drugs" HERE.
  • Paranoia Fuel: "Family". Those seemingly nice boys ringing your doorbell could be violent robbers who would terrorize an innocent family and steal their belongings in their desperation for drug money.
  • Tear Jerker: A lot of the ads are poignantly tragic.
    • The "Mother" ad seems to hit people hard, as it's a simple ad of a young man discussing how much he loves his mom...while rummaging the house in a meth state, alerting his mother. He then proceeds to hit her and run out of the house as she literally attempts to grab onto him. The ad ends with a voiceover of the man saying how he loves his mother...all while his mother is laying on the ground crying at what's become of her son.
    • In "Parents", a boy's voice is heard talking about how he gets along pretty well with his parents and he knows they trust him. His mother is seen collapsing onto a sofa and sobbing after what looks like the aftermath of an argument with her husbandnote , followed by the sounds of their son banging on the door and screaming, "I'm sorry! I'm sorry, Dad!" As the boy's parents tearfully hold each other, he continues screaming, "I'm sorry! Please, Dad! Come on, Dad!" He starts bashing his shoulder against the door and kicking it, screaming, "Let me in! Let me in! I'll kill you! I'll kill you!" Even worse, this is all happening during Christmas, as seen by the presence of a Christmas tree in the house.
