YMMV / Men in Blazers

Go To

  • Awesome Music: The Men in Blazers TV theme song, which they claim is a mix of Hank Williams Jr. and Jimmy Cliff.
  • He Also Did: Michael is a television producer and is the CEO of Embassy Row. Meanwhile, Roger is an author and owns a record label for Jewish public domain music.
  • Heartwarming Moments:
    • Whenever a soccer star dies, the Men in Blazers dedicate an article to them in their memory, or send them off in a heartwarming tweet.
    • Roger and Michael often have female soccer players as recurring interviewees — particularly the United States women's soccer team, who have won the World Cup three times and have only just got recognition. It's pretty heartwarming because it's rare to hear the voices of female footballers, who are mostly overshadowed by the men, whether the men have more acheivements than them or not.
  • Memetic Mutation
    • Full-Kit Wanker — what you call someone who is wearing all of the soccer kit of their favourite team. It even has its own Twitter page! (although the Twitter page probably came before the Men in Blazers)
    • When Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal was seen on camera imitating how one of the players had dived during an argument with Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger, it instantly became the talk on the MiB Twitter page, podcast and TV series. Then again, it became a meme worldwide anyway.
    • A sobbing man's face seen in the crowd during a 2015/16 match is often photoshopped onto managers and soccer players that have lost a match by MiB fans on Twitter. The men retweet it almost immediately.
  • Retroactive Recognition: Before Men in Blazers, you might recognize the two men in a BBC America sketch in which they try and explain rugby.
