• Awesome Music: Perhaps any song in the film, but most of all Perez Prado's "Adios" over the first gunfight.
• Funny Moments:
  • "Valium, Prozac and Ritalin. Breakfast of champions."
  • One of the minor thugs telling a long monologue to himself about how he wants to kill Moon and then killed himself by Hoss and Crow.
  • Cam trying to kill Blondie with a fry pan on the kitchen.
• Fridge Brilliance: As Marcus pointed out, as dangerous as Lou is, Vincent would never give him a gun with loaded bullets.
• Magnificent Bastard: Vincent Moon is a devious crime lord who has gathered a hundred criminals working for The Syndicate inside a newly built prison under false pretenses of holding a conference to discuss business, then exposing their duplicity and force them all to kill each other within a six-hour window with the promise of ten millon dollars to be split among the last three survivors. Moon himself effortlessly dispatches several criminals before retiring to a surveillance room to monitor the action while amusing himself with private games of chess. At the end, Moon organizes a four-way Quick Draw with the last three people left standing, only to remove the bullets from Lou's gun beforehand so Marcus will shoot him. Moon concedes that the Syndicate is planning on nobody leaving the prison alive, with Moon not caring one way or the other if he walks out the real victor or goes out in a Dying Moment of Awesome. Stylish, charismatic, and ruthless in equal measure, Moon establishes his bona fides as a master of organized crime.
• Moment of Awesome: Most of the main characters get these throughout the movie:
  • Lou's baseball bat fencing, as well as most of his gunfights;
  • Moon with his speech in the beginning and then in the scene with the knife and also when killing one of the mooks just to see is he as cool as he was before;
  • Marcus when he kills Cam's pursuers;
  • D killing a bunch of mooks on the stairs;
  • Bob with two shotguns akimbo;
  • Crow and Hoss while killing Lenny;
  • Barbie while killing Hoss;
  • Ricky while escaping death from D's bullet.
• Rooting for the Empire:
  • Admit it, most of you wanted Lou to be the only one left standing.
  • Hell, some people wanted Vincent Moon to shoot Marcus instead.
