• Big-Lipped Alligator Moment: The scene where Margaret finds a picture scope in the Swamp and looks into it to find a naked picture of General MacArthur seems to serve no purpose other than being an inserted gag to add some meat to Frank discovering that his Purple Heart has gone missing.
• Moment of Awesome: When an unrepentant Frank refuses to work in surgery, Father Mulcahy drags him by the arm across the floor of the OR into the scrubroom and forces him to start washing.
  Father Mulcahy: Let me help you scrub, Major.
  Frank: What are you doing? Priests aren't supposed to hurt people!
