• Hilarious in Hindsight: A few years later, Resident Evil popularized the layout of the mansion's entrance, including the staircase with red carpeting, doors at similar positions, and a ticking clock.
• Narm: Moreso the Saturn game, with its talking heads that sometimes get For Better or for Worse-mouth.
• Special Effect Failure: The color limitations of the Sega Genesis/CD didn't do the first game any favors. When you're walking around with the crystal ball containing your sister, the butterflies all comment that it has red wings, something which the graphics clearly contradict.
