- Broken Base: The very premise itself is made of this, with some finding it too outlandish and some finding it delightfully over the top.
- Cult Classic: It has its fans, especially among the Furry Fandom.
- Memetic Mutation: The entire show often gets used, especially outside the US (such as by Charlie Brooker), as a go-to example of how corny American television in the old days could get.
- Narm: Look at that title again. Whoever conceived it apparently though that it sounded daring, but it just sounds silly.
- Narm Charm: The above being said, the title is just hilarious, isn't it?
- Retroactive Recognition: This was one of the first projects that Alan Silvestri did music on.
- Special Effects Failure: Jonathan's transformation into his panther form is incredibly laughable, as the replica of Jonathan's head looks rubbery and the paw and cat head are little more than bad taxidermy. By contrast, the hawk and snake transformations, while dated and bordering the Unintentional Uncanny Valley at points, are executed much better by comparison, bad screening notwithstanding.
