  • Tear Jerker: Makoto, a single father had a son who had cancer and died. He tearfully recounted the story in front of a girl who also has cancer and her mother who was having a birthday party at his restaurant.
  • Unintentionally Sympathetic: Miharu breaks up with her poor boyfriend to get together with a rich guy. Miharu didn't break up with her boyfriend for being poor, though: she had been waiting ten years for him to propose, but never did, and was concerned because he had no ambitions to improve himself. While Miharu did want to get with someone who had more money, she genuinely loved her newer rich boyfriend who she married, and even supported him when they were going through difficult financial times. Then he started becoming abusive, controlling, and they eventually divorced, with Miharu's life falling to shambles, with no one to support her, all for the crime of not wanting to settle for a man who wouldn't propose or do much with his life. The ex-boyfriend she broke up with earlier did get his life together, but only because he found the motivation after he lost the person he loved; he would not have improved himself if Miharu hadn't left him.
  • Woolseyism: This story has a boy who is simply referred to as "senpai"note  and has no name given in the original Japanese episode. However he is named John in the English dub.
