  • Germans Love David Hasselhoff: He has a very large fanbase in Japan for whatever reason, to the point that the Japanese release of his fourth album Citizens Activ contained two bonus tracks, and one of his few collaborators outside of Christian music was Kenta Koie from the Japan-based metalcore band Crossfaith. He even recorded a new version of "Fighter" with Japanese lyrics added in as a tribute to his Japanese fans. This is especially impressive since a mere 0.3% of Japanese people are Christian.
  • Misaimed Fandom: His song "Plan for Me", which tackles the topic of abortion, was promoted by various websites as a "pro-life" or "anti-abortion" anthem. However, the song's lyrics are actually about a mother who chose to have an abortion, told from both the parents' perspective and the spirit of the unborn child. Manafest clearly stated that he wrote the song to share another side to the issue and does not judge anyone for their views on the subject, which the lyrics reflect, yet he was still met with controversy and accusations of being manipulative thanks to many promoting the song as something it wasn't. According to Manafest himself, his intention was not to denounce abortion, but rather to discuss the serious implications and effect it can potentially have on the lives of those who go through with it.
    • Really, his entire career could fall under this. Despite looking up to a ton of prolific rappers, including DMX, Nas, Eminem, Canibus, and Wu-Tang Clan, the amount of recognition he gets from non-Christian musicians is quite literally none, and he's attracted more than his fair share of close-minded, borderline delusional fans. Notably, when he paid tribute to Chester Bennington on social media, his comments section was filled with people who believed a conspiracy theory that he died by murder rather than suicide (which had absolutely no truth to it and was debunked almost instantly), which Manafest did not respond to aside from sarcastically liking one of the comments.
