Anti-Climax Boss: For something that was built up as the main villain for the latter part of the series and the embodiment of endless chaos, Deusmast hardly puts up a fight and goes down in less than half an episode.
Composer Hiroshi Takaki really put in a lot of effort in the music of Maho Girls.
The transformation theme, Miracle・Magical・Jewelryle!, which has become one of the most complex transformation themes ever made in the franchise, as it is remixed for each different style.
The second intro theme is a remix of the first, but it's one heck of a remix.
Bizarro Episode: Episode 29 features the characters suddenly re-enacting not Cinderella but Mofuderella. The old, defeated villains return to play the roles of the wicked step-mother and step-siblings. There's a scene where the Cures attempt a transformation sequence where one of them is mouse sized, as well as a scene in which the characters dance to Ondo music. It is a weird, weird episode...and the worst part? It's plot relevant.
Even before the show began to air, fans were divided among several things, from the character designs to the witch motifs. Now that the show has finished airing, people seem to be divided over whether the show is good or not.
An odd one is the fact that this team (and their successors) is one of many representatives for Tokyo's 2020 Summer Olympics. There are some who understand why - because they're the more recent when they were chosen and the dynamic they have makes sense for what the Olympics is. There are others, though, who are disappointed in the choice - some believe a team much closer to the designated time should have been chosen and see the Mahou Girls are placeholders and there are those who feel that Cure Black and Cure White should have been chosen instead.

Growing the Beard: The first half of the series has a problem with combat - namely its lacking in it. Fights often boil down "monsters wail on the Cures, Cures make a speech and use finisher." It was particularly blatant when the Cures fight the generals, who were expected to have better fights. However, episodes 20 and 21 make it clear they were saving the budget and combat scenes in later episodes are much better in comparison.
Heartwarming in Hindsight: Over the fact that Mirai and Riko reunite after 'several years' in universe... In 2024, they really will reunite, in a 12 episode follow up set at the time of said reunion.
Hilarious in Hindsight: Seeing Cure Miracle in her Ruby form causing fiery magical explosions becomes this when you remember that in an alternate world, causing fiery magical explosions was the only thing she knew how to do.
Rooting for the Empire: Similar to Wolfrun, Orba is one of the most popular Precure villains among females, and is viewed more often than all of the Maho Girls villains and even Kouchou, due to being seen as attractive.
Spiritual Adaptation: With the protagonists having pink, purple and green theme colors, having adventures in a fantasy world and using the power of jewels to defeat evil forces, this is basically an anime version of Princess Gwenevere and the Jewel Riders.
Initial translations used male pronouns for Mofurun. Some subsequent subtitles then used female translations - particularly when Mofurun was referred to as one of Haa-chan's mothers. It was only after the appearance of a promotional image for The Movie midway through the season that Mofurun's gender was confirmed to be female.
Dokurokushe's gender, much like Mofurun's, wasn't specified for a while due to using gender-neutral pronouns. Some early translations guessed at female for the sake of not having to awkwardly avoid using gendered pronouns. When he finally speaks, it's in a male voice.

The Ending CGI is equally as gorgeous too.
Win Back the Crowd: For at least the original Shōjo Demographic, with the movie having the most pre-ordered tickets out of any non-All Stars film. The show has also continued maintaining its Periphery Demographic that was won back by Go Princess!, becoming an aversion of Tough Act to Follow that a number of fans have feared.
