• The Scrappy: To the author's own surprise, Aizawa gets a lot of this from readers due to the dismissive way he talked to Izuku about not being suited for the Hero Courses because he was Quirkless, which would send the cinnamon bun into a deeply depressed state. His later interactions would attempt to make it more clear that he's supposed to be a more well-meaning Stern Teacher, albeit one who struggles at properly communicating the Hard Truth Aesops that he often attempts to give, though this hasn't stopped some readers from still giving him the same amount of flak for this shortcoming as his students do.
• Take That, Scrappy!: Readers rejoiced when Momo defeated Aizawa during the exams and knocked him cold after how much of a jerk he was to her and her friends throughout the story.
