• Hollywood Homely: Alvin. Apparently, you only need an unkempt afro, a unibrow, and un-ironed clothes to be considered ugly, even if you're Nick Cannon.
• Jerkass Woobie: Alvin. Once he sees a significant boost in his popularity, he becomes obnoxiously full of himself, treats his old friends like crap, is rude and hurtful to Paris, and he's even disrespectful to his parents (somewhat). When it blows up in his face, it's difficult to feel bad for him.
• Woobie: Paris's friends are not genuine and don't believe in her. No one takes her seriously because she's popular and pretty. Her boyfriend is cheating on her and the new guy she starts to fall for turns into a jerk when he realizes what dumping Paris can bring him. It seems as though her dad isn't in the picture and her mom appears to frequently be gone for long periods of time. Not only that, but everyone seems totally cool with her continuing to date Dru despite his treatment of her because he's her "meal ticket," though she has dreams of her own. Basically, she's been keeping up a facade for a long time and nobody cares to get to know the person she wants to become. Paris is lonely but hides it behind designer clothing and a high status relationship.
