- Adaptation Displacement: Outside of its native country, The Animated Series is probably better known than the comic.
- Values Dissonance: Being a French series, the comic books freely address topics such as Teen Pregnancy, divorce, and parental abandonment, something mostly unheard from U.S.-created comic books directed at children. The second volume features a panel in which Lou's mother (as a teenager) gets her breasts groped by a teenage Clément Fifrelin, which judging from comments made in Amazon, did offend some parents in the U.S.
- Then there's the casual fanservice (or in this case partial nudity), with Lou's mother and especially with her space opera series, and one chapter had a panel of Lou showering and averting Nipple and Dimed. While these aren't meant to be racy, these wouldn't fly over well with most American audiences for a comic aimed at children.
