• Designated Hero: Licenciado Ramírez is this to many of the viewers. While he didn't show any signs of maliciousness, he still took advantage of Modesto's success as a wealthy man. His solemn expression when letting Modesto know that their attempt a striking a business deal went awry doesn't really help his case.
• Harsher in Hindsight: It's tough to watch how Modesto's father dies of a heart attack, even more when he was portrayed by the legendary Johnny Ventura who coincidentally died the same way ten years later.
• The Scrappy: Licenciado Ramírez was generally disliked because he was the one who exploited Modesto's newfound wealthiness by persuading him into becoming his business partner, something that alienated him from his family. In addition, his actions also caused Modesto to spend all of his money for selfish purposes.
