• Aluminum Christmas Trees: During the Cold War, there were radio stations which broadcast a string of numbers in order to provide coded messages for spies.
• Hilarious in Hindsight: One example of Hurley's bad luck is seeing a guy falling out the window to his death. It's later revealed that this is how Locke was paralyzed. The producers admitted it would have been a fun twist if the man Hurley saw actually was Locke, but the timeline didn't work out. Locke was paralyzed for four years while Hurley won the lottery only a year before the crash.
