• Alternate Character Interpretation:
  • Is Olivia Logan an introverted, lonely woman constantly overshadowed by Belinda or is she a hateful, manipulating shrew who dumps her own family members into an asylum because she sees them as embarrassments?
  • Is Belinda a Spoiled Brat who Really Gets Around or just a normal teenager acting out in dangerously self-destructive ways? And was her madness always there or did Olivia push her repeatedly to the breaking point and never bothered to help her?
• The Woobie: May Logan. It's bad enough that she was born deaf but her parents (particularly Jacob) and grandmother seem to treat her like she's imperfect. Jacob and Olivia don't even bother to learn sign language to talk to her nor does she get the attention that Laura, and later Melody, did. Losing Laura made it all the worse because Laura was so good at sign language and was almost more like a mother to her at times.
