• Memetic Badass:
  • The Lock Picking Lawyer has such a reputation for picking otherwise-unbreakable locks, that many people in the comments characterise him as able being to break into anything, like Fort Knox or Army airbases. People also claim that he can do this with unlikely tools such as a soda can or a small tree branch, or even that he just needs to stare at a lock to make it open for him. This is only fueled further by him being able to occasionally pick locks without even touching them (usually some sort of magnet is involved).
  • When it comes to locks sent in a package, comments point out that it takes LPL more time to get the lock out than to unlock it, and the basic duct tape would be a better security measure than any padlock.
• Memetic Loser: Master Lock. LPL has taken them to task many times for their poor quality products which he tends to open easily and with little skill and few tools, including several that he can open by just sticking a shim of metal into an opening on the lock and jiggling it until the lock opens. In one case, he compared a "10/10" rated Master Lock to a faux-lock, and demonstrated that the Master Lock can be opened just as quickly as a padlock that doesn't actually lock. Among his fanbase, Master Lock is a Butt-Monkey company that rarely manages to manufacture a good quality lock, and they joke that their ratings on a scale of 10 are actually a recommended age for picking, or a measure of how many seconds it'll take LPL to pick the lock.
• Memetic Mutation: LPL’s status as a Memetic Badass when it comes to picking locks at some point morphed into him either being a Memetic Troll or Memetic Psychopath who uses his insane skills to go around breaking into peoples homes or workplaces at random, with his sudden "appearance" heralded by hearing him go through his intro, stating that he is about to pick the lock to whatever door he is on the other side of.
  LPL: This is the Lock Picking Lawyer, and today I have in front of me a standard dorm lock that I will be breaking using a single toothbrush bristle, and my mind.

• Watch It for the Meme: A fair amount of people watch his videos simply to hear his various catchphrases, such as "click out of (x), (y) is binding," and "once again, an inexcusable design flaw".
