- Awesome Moments: For only lasting 26 minutes, the film is full of awesome:
- Shiny Chariot's show. Pretty much all of it.
- The Minotaur easily shrugs off magical blasts and even telekinetically stabbing about 20 swords into its back seems to do pretty much nothing. Cue Sucy tricking it into swallowing one of her concoctions. It melts into a puddle on the floor. And the puddle melts the floor!(giggles sinisterly) "I guess it was a little too strong."
- Just about everything involving the dragon, but especially the spectacular way it dies.
- Awesome Music: The orchestral soundtrack for the film. It really captures the mystical feel of Luna Nova.
- Captain Obvious Reveal: Professor Ursula's identity as Shiny Chariot is so obvious it's clear that only Akko would consider it a spoiler. The series proper doesn't even try to hide that it's her.
- Creepy Awesome: This is Sucy's reaction after she calmly pours a potion down a raging minotaur's throat which causes it to melt into blood and bone:"I guess it was a little too strong."
- Fan Nickname: Technically speaking, "OVA" is not the accurate term for the short film, as it initially premiered in theaters before it was released online. However, because it resembles the typical OVA in terms of style, the name has stuck.
- Heartwarming Moments:
- Akko waving happily to Sucy and Lotte at the end when they both managed to escape the rubble caused by the dragon.
- Diana saving Akko before she falls to the ground.
- Nightmare Fuel: How the Minotaur reacts to Sucy's potion is pretty terrifying and gruesome, as the potion causes it to morph and completely melt into the floor, with its blood and bones being all that remain. While we don't see most of it, what we do see and how the characters react to it In-Universe makes it pretty clear that it was an incredibly grisly sight.
