YMMV / Little House on the Prairie S 3 E 16 The Wisdom Of Solomon

Go To

  • Alternative Character Interpretation: In one of the scenes where Solomon shows his quick progress at school, one schoolgirl behind him can be seen with a disgusted expression. Is she a virulent racist and showing contempt for a black boy at her class, or is she shocked at Solomon's progress given that she probably grew up learning that black people were inherently inferior?
  • He Really Can Act: Todd Bridges shines as Solomon. His serenity, struggling feelings for how he knows his place in society is severely limited along with his ambitions to do better than he's allowed to make for a terrific performance.
  • Retroactive Recognition: Solomon is played by a young Todd Bridges, who was concurrently starring in the short-lived series Fish, and would go on to greater fame the following year as Willis Jackson on Diff'rent Strokes.
