  • Alternative Character Interpretation:
    • When Almanzo calls Perley Day out on his irresponsible actions and tells him to get out, his brother is in tears as he announces he's leaving. Was he sheding Tears of Remorse, finally realizing what he did, or just upset for how his brother pushed him against the wall? Or were those Crocodile Tears to milk sympathy (like Almanzo says he usually did in the past)?
    • Albert attacking Andy after mistakenly thinking his friend was trying to flirt with the girl he liked: Was Albert remorseless about his involvement in the death of Alice, or was his attacking Andy partially motivated by a fit of rage for his guilt which misdirect against his victim's son?
  • Angst? What Angst?: This is the first episode after the infamous school fire which claimed the lives of Alice Garvey and Mary's baby. Not only is no one in mourning, but when Albert gets into a fight with Andy for thinking he was flirting with the girl he asked for help to court, he shows no guilt from his involvement in the fire and nobody calls him out on attacking Andy, who also shows no resentment against his friend.
  • They Wasted a Perfectly Good Plot: This is the first episode after the school fire, but almost no mention is made about it, nobody seems particularly affected by the tragedy, and when Albert gets into a fight with Andy, nobody seems troubled by that despite Andy having recently lost his mother in the fire.
