- Alternative Character Interpretation: When Ben Griffin is questioned about where he found the mined gold he stole from the grave of Zachariah's wife, he pulls a troubled expression. Was he fearing somebody would find out he stole that gold from a grave, or was he expressing guilt for what he did?
- Squick:
- When the Ingalls and Edwards families stop at Deadwood, one of the prostitutes at a brothel tries to solicit Carl the moment his parents are away. He's a teen by this point (Brian Part was 15).
- After figuring that Ben Griffin took the gold he found from Zachariah's wife's grave, Laura rushes to Zachariah's place and finds him sobbing and hugging his wife's corpse!
- They Wasted a Perfectly Good Plot: The fact that Zachariah killed himself in the exact same way as Charles' father tried tto take his own life is never addressed by Charles.
