YMMV / Limetown

  • Contested Sequel: The second season was nowhere near as popular as the first, but still had its fans.
  • First Installment Wins: Most of the attention the show received only discusses the first season. The long hiatus, during which many listeners lost interest, certainly didn't help.
  • Narm: The Season 1 finale, an incredibly tense episode which is supposedly recorded live, begins with... a plug for Limetown tee-shirts.
  • Nightmare Fuel: Being a horror/science fiction series, there are several examples.
    • The man who tries to break into Lia's hotel room at the end of Episode 2. Scary primarily because it comes out of nowhere, but also because nobody should be capable of repeatedly smashing their bleeding head into a door that fast.
    • Episode 3 ends with Lia getting a threatening phone call from a mysterious stranger. From a phone in her parents' house.
    • The Season 1 finale in spades. Lenore puts on a pleasant, Affably Evil facade for the first half. Then she sets the timer. Cue Oh, Crap! from the audience. Lenore than recounts the events leading up to the Limetown panic, including the Acid Pool death of those without the Tech. She shows no remorse for her actions, then takes a pill to kill herself before the timer dings.
  • They Wasted a Perfectly Good Plot: One of the main issues with the second season, aside from the long hiatus while the creators were focused on the TV adaptation, was that Lia's disappearance is never given a concrete resolution and she only appears for a short, very ambiguous section of the finale.
