- Americans Hate Tingle: While in Japan, the Licca-chan brand sells millions and has had numerous media including her created (such as Super Doll★Licca-chan), stateside the brand is viewed with vague curiosity at best, and as a knockoff of Barbie at worst. It doesn't help that the vast majority of Licca-chan media were not released outside of Japan.
- Memetic Psychopath: Licca-chan herself, due to the circulation of several variants of the pre-existing "Mary-san" urban legend that feature her as the titular Vengeful Abandoned Toy.
