• Alternative Character Interpretation: Played for Laughs in the Kirby: Welcome to Smash Bros riff, in which the Smashers are portrayed as a cult that worships the godly Blinding One.
• Archive Panic: The Library currently has over two thousand posts of bad fanfiction. It doesn't look like it's about to let up at any point. Slightly mitigated by the fact that all of the installments of snark cover many, many different fanfics, so one can pick and choose. Definitely happens for some of the doorstopper riffs, though.
• Crosses the Line Twice: Goeth's main brand of humor.
• So Bad, It's Good: There have been fics riffed at the Library that were so awful that it was hilarious, and you couldn't help but kind of like them for it.
  • For Ert, it was the Half-Life: Full Life Consequences series, which was the reason he reviewed the series in the first place.
  • Lyle had the, er, pleasure of riffing My Immortal.
  • Taco Magic was responsible for riffing the collection of fics which came to be known as "the ID fics," named for their author, Insane Doctor.
  • Ghostcat would disagree about it being bad enough to be called good, but Kawaii Desu Vampire Sexy was certainly an entertaining rollercoaster of insanity.
  • agig got to riff Teen Fortress 2 and is currently collaboratively riffing The Marissa Games with Ghostie. He also just started Garfield Effect: Galaxy Adventure. It's a thing.
• Spiritual Successor: Has one in the Asylum, another MSTing website by former guest riffer Crazy Minh.
• Squick: A huge variety of fics at the Library feature squick.
  • Most infamously, is the coochipede from Kawaii Desu Vampire Sexy.
  • Gabriel Hawke is also a very good example: it was so graphic in its description of gore Herr Wozzeck ended up censoring half of it in the riff. And that's before you remember the fact that the whole fic opens on the main character hypnotizing, raping, and murdering a character for being a Templar.
  • Raptor and I (and by extension My Life With Raptors, which took inspiration from Raptor and I) both play host to velociraptor bestialty. Which isn't helped by the fact that the velociraptor love interest is guilty of being an abusive partner in Raptor and I.
  • Anything by EP. Seeing a trend?
  • Pengu's adventure into sexual activity. It's somehow the most viewed riff. That fact scares us.
  • Veggieteens Bob x Barbara Tale of Two Tomatoes. It's a goddamn VeggieTales lemon.
• Too Bleak, Stopped Caring: Several fics that have been riffed suffer from this.
• Unintentionally Unsympathetic:
  • When Devil May Cry 4: Remake author Light Blue Lightning discovered SC's riff, particularly the part where she finally crossed one line too many, she initially tried to play to SC's sympathy by claiming, in melodramatic fashion, that he had killed her will to continue writing by his words. Not only did SC not take the bait, none of the rest of the Library did either.
  • Stone-Man85 probably intended his OC Alex to be a sympathetic protagonist in his fic, but that's sure not how it turned out.
  • Jacob's angry comments on the Kirby: Welcome to Smash Bros. riff were quickly torn apart by the other librarians, especially since Quartz2006 (the fic's actual writer) took the whole thing with grace.
