• Alternate Character Interpretation:
  • The Reveal that Ava is the 12th clone of herself Rip has recruited potentially clears up her sudden flip on the Legends in general and Sara in particular, going from wanting to hunt them down and imprison them to wanting to be Sara's girlfriend; it was in all likelihood an earlier clone who hated Sara, and this latest one has been made more reasonable.
  • It's possible that, as Ava was 'programmed' not to have regular human emotions, gaining them due to her interactions with the Legends made her less inclined to stick to her strict Time Bureau mindset. A Deleted Scene with Rip and Sara seems to confirm this.
• Aluminum Christmas Trees: The 1999 date for the New Zealand scene may initially seem inaccurate. However, principal photography for The Lord of the Rings trilogy did in fact last between October 1st, 1999 and December 22nd, 2000.
• Badass Decay: Grodd is not nearly as much of a challenge as he usually is. At the beginning, Ray simply zaps him with a shrink ray, while at the end, Nate uses the powers of the Earth totem to launch Grodd in the air, Team Rocket style.
• Jerkass Woobie: Damien Darhk of all people. He's genuinely distraught at the thought of losing his daughter to Mallus.
• Special Effects Failure:
  • The true form of Mallus looks like something from an early PlayStation game. It's obvious they spent more money on Grodd, who looks so much better in comparison.
  • The A.V. Club's Oliver Sava was not a fan of the makeup Maisie Richardson-Sellers wore to portray 1992 Amaya.
