- Awesome Music: The main theme, Void Meadow, Final Break, among others.
- Even Better Sequel: The game as a whole is an Even Better Creator-Driven Successor to Super Mario 63, and each chapter improves on the last with new gameplay and Level Designer features.
- Obvious Beta: Both chapters got several releases to fix bugs and change gameplay, and even in the final versions some features are left out, buggy, or marked with a "to be done later" message.
- That One Attack: Most of the Chapter 2 boss's attacks are easy to dodge, but its thorn attack...isn't, due to the projectiles bouncing chaotically around the room.
- Tough Act to Follow: While players overall consider the game to be an improvement over Super Mario 63, the declining influence of Flash games, lack of ties to a recognizable franchise, and complexity of the level designer mean that this game has never quite achieved the level of popularity that its predecessor had in its heyday.
