YMMV / Ladies Book Club

  • Adaptation Displacement: A mild case, but some people were surprise to learn that the comic was a prequel to a web series. Said series is probably still the more well-known incarnation of the LBC, though.
  • Alternative Joke Interpretation:
    • Towards the end of The Ol' College Try, Gina and Rox consider changing their names to "something cooler and more complicated", suggesting "Rryhgiinnaaa" and "Rooahexxhhahh" respectively. Are these "drunken" versions of their names in Drawga — implying that "Ryjinah" and "Rah'ōxah" are just their nicknames? Or are they taking their already Xtreme Kool Letterz-filled names and making them even more complicated? note
    • From the same issue, a drunk Legzi being unable to remember how to spell her own name is either putting a Lampshade Hanging on the inconsistent spelling of her last name or explaining said inconsistency.
  • Cant Unhear It: Very much in effect, especially in regards to Rox, as the artists seem to have made a deliberate effort to model her expressions on those of Julia Lepetit.
  • Harsher in Hindsight:
    • Feel Better Soon being set in Porfopolis becomes this after said city is frozen by an ice dragon prior to Season Three of Drawga, with disasterous effets on Somewherica's overall economy. It's not even confirmed that it was Harmless Freezing, either.
    • The constant threat of the Ladies Book Club ending due to circumstances out of its members' control can be this after the last episodes of Season Three of Drawga were shelved after the CollegeHumor firing.
    • Heartwarming in Hindsight: Though just like in the comic, this turned out to not be the end, as the release of the entire Season Three was announced in December 2020, after almost a year spent on The Shelf of Movie Languishment.<
  • Older Than They Think: Surely this is the first time Tony Wilson has worked on something Drawga-adjacent, right? Not quite. He previously appeared in the Drawfee Break episode Comic Strip, which is where Season Two characters Francis and Daryl debuted.
  • They Changed It, Now It Sucks!: While the comic itself was well-received, some fans were disappointed that the voiced version of Run, Run, Runaways used to promote it had the cast of Hardly Working portray the characters, as they didn't quite capture their personalities. Especially since Julia Lepitit and Jacob Andrews were already involved in the creation of the project anyway.
