YMMV / King Charles III

Go To

  • Hilarious in Hindsight:
    • Richard Goulding played Harry in both the original stage version and BBC adaptation of this play. He went on to play Harry as an illiterate man-child on The Windsors, a satirical soap opera.
    • In the 2017 TV adaptation, Harry's love interest Jess was portrayed by a black woman. On November 27th of that same year, Harry became engaged to actress Meghan Markle, who is half black. They married in the next year.
    • In the play, Harry initially asks to be stripped of his royal title so that he can live his life as a "normal" person. He later backtracks on this, finally breaking up with his radical Republican girlfriend Jess in order to devote himself to his royal duties and the royal family. In 2020, Harry and his wife Meghan made the decision to step away from the royal family and "no longer formally represent the queen".
    • Of course, the fact that Charles came to the throne in 2023 unimpeded - and with the title Charles III, amid speculation he would use George as his regnal name.
