  • Moment of Awesome: Performing "All Summer Long", then having Lynyrd Skynyrd show up halfway through and all of them singing "Sweet Home Alabama".
    • Although it's arguable that his crowning achievement in this regard was the medley he performed at the 1999 MTV Video Music Awards: it began with a metal version of the first verse of Run-DMC's "King of Rock"; then Run-DMC joined him onstage for the first verse of "Rock Box"; then Kid came back out and did the first verse of "Bawitdaba"; then Steven Tyler and Joe Perry of Aerosmith walked through the audience up to the stage for the first verse and chorus of "Walk This Way", at which point the crowd exploded.
    • Performing "Saturday Night's Alright For Fighting" at a tribute for Elton John and having some of the biggest stars in the industry on their feet dancing in the aisles en masse. Even Elton himself was impressed.
  • Sequel Displacement: The Grammys nominated him for Best New Artist... in 2000! A full decade after his debut album! An album which is still in print almost 25 years later.
  • Signature Song: All Summer Long.
    • Bawitadaba and Cowboy for his early years.
  • What Do You Mean, It's Not for Kids?: Many people believe that his song "All Summer Long" is appropriate for family-friendly road trips. While the tune is happy, the lyrics describe two young lovers drinking, doing drugs, smoking weed, and having sex by the beach, likely underage. Not exactly kid-friendly material.
