YMMV / Khimera: Destroy All Monster Girls

Go To

  • Adorkable: Chelshia is basically a newborn but she's already a big fan of video games and anime. This helps her at the end of the game, when she and Amelia the harpy bond over their similar tastes. Bernadette the dullahan is also very goofy and lovable. And one of the girls at the weapon shop, the one with mouse ears, is outright described as a dork in her bio. It says that she buys weapons, records herself while making some fancy moves and then uploads the film on the net.
  • Friendly Fandoms: Due to sharing gameplay and tone similarities, it's well-liked among Shovel Knight fans.
  • Game-Breaker:
    • The Saucy Shot, which can move through walls, does a high amount of damage (to the point of taking two hearts out of a boss's health bar), and due to Anchovy being a rather easy boss, is fairly easy to obtain early on. The only drawback is the short range of the attack, but given the damage it dishes, it's not much of an issue.
    • The Treasure Box does almost as much damage as the Saucy Shot on hit, can be spammed more easily than the Saucy Shot, and can be dropped from above instead of needing a charge. Most importantly, when you're using it, you're immune to all attacks, allowing you to attack bosses without taking damage.
    • Berserk Mode, which triples your attack power. Technically it's balanced out by you taking double damage, but if you're quick enough you can destroy most enemies before they even get a chance to attack (especially if you abuse the dash punch.) It also makes the Saucy Shot even more broken, to the point of one-shotting the witch sisters and taking down bosses in only 3 hits.
  • Les Yay: Estylia, the gorgon who acts as the game's checkpoints and stresses that she doesn't do that kind of thing for just anyone, urges you not to read her Monster Compendium entry when you find it. Said entry changes her checkpoint sign to a picture of a heart and ends with:
"Why you in particular? She must just have a thing for heroines."
