• It Was His Sled: Bree-yark does not mean "I surrender".
• Sequel Displacement: While not specifically a sequel, Keep on the Borderlands is the second module released for Basic Dungeons & Dragons. The first, In Search Of The Unknown is far less known, but still popular in its own right.
• Values Dissonance: A gamer one as the original gamers of the module had no problem slaughtering all of the humanoids inside, children included, while modern ones may look askance at this one. The novelization brings this up as the adventurers have some of their members sick at the thought of killing humanoid children.
