YMMV / Kamen Rider Battride War

Go To

  • Anti-Climax Boss: The Space Ironmen Kyodain in Battride War II. They only appear in their vehicle forms and the game expects you to fight them entirely by Motorcycle Jousting, making the fact that you're using Fourze Meteor Fusion States completely moot.
  • Demonic Spiders: Shocker Combatmen, shockingly! The Cartoon Bombs they throw hurt and keep hurting.
  • Goddamn Bats: Most mooks are hopelessly useless and easy to get huge combos off from, but some of them are pretty annoying, including:
    • Gelnewts, who attack by jumping high off-screen and coming down with a chop, making them very hard to hit
    • Some Shocker Combatmen, who throw Cartoon Bombs
    • Bakaneko Makamou who scream loudly and will smack you away if you get too close.
    • Large Waste Yummys, which will break your combo by grappling you and, due to their large size, have Hyper Armor (meaning they don't get stunned when you smack them)
  • Good Bad Bugs: Using your Rider's motorcycle while in Super Mode is usually a losing proposition, since you can't fight while riding and therefore just fritter away your meter. Wizard, however, changes from All Dragon to Flame Style, meaning you can hop on the bike to cancel your Super Mode and save the energy for when you really need it.
  • Nightmare Fuel: Kuuga's memory level manages to capture the feel of the original show's confrontation with N-Daguva-Zeba, starting off with you being unable to even chip his health as he beats you to a bloody pulp. Then a cutscene plays where he sets you on fire. All of this in a first person perspective! All the while, there is no sound. No music... except for the blowing of the wind.
  • They Wasted a Perfectly Good Plot: In Battride War II, several of the movie-themed stages are depressingly bland. As anti-climactic as Fourze's boss battle with the Kyodain was, at least he got a boss; Faiz and Hibiki's stages don't put you against anything other than generic Mooks. Psyga, Orga, the Elasmotherium Orphnoch, Kabuki, and the Orochi are nowhere to be found.
  • Unexpected Character: Battride War Genesis is the first Kamen Rider media that officially refers Lord Baron as Baron's Super Mode. Since then, in every game where Baron appears, Lord Baron become his Super Mode.
