  • Alternative Character Interpretation:
    • It's possible that Yuuri was subconsciously fighting back. Despite Eros flat out mocking the "I Know You're in There Somewhere" Fight trope, citing it by name, he hesitated at killing Phichit. Victor is convinced that it's Eros putting the moves on a possible replacement for a minion, but given that Yuuri considers Phichit one of the people he's closest to, there's reason to doubt. There's also the "panic attack" while a furious Victor was holding him down. Was it Yuuri Fighting from the Inside? The panicked pleas sound an awful lot like they were from a claustrophobic person trapped in a small, dark space. Seemingly corroborated by the disappearance of the Red Eyes, Take Warning, but it can be dismissed as a ruse since Victor, who is an Unreliable Narrator due to having had his mind manipulated, was the only one who saw it.
  • Genius Bonus: Delta Pavonis, Eros and Maaya's homeworld, has been named one of the best targets in the search for extraterrestrial intelligence.
  • Hilarious in Hindsight:
    • Erin saying Eros is no Nick Fury gets funnier after the post-credit scene of Spiderman Far From Home, in which it's revealed the Fury in the movie wasn't Fury, but a Skrull (shapeshifting alien) named Talos, who's on the good side. Eros is certainly a shapeshifting alien with the physical looks of a heroic character, but he's actually on the villainous side, and an Expy of Far From Home's antagonist Mysterio.
  • Moral Event Horizon: Eros crossed it either by ordering Victor to choke Yuri nearly to death, or when he almost killed Phichit with a Slasher Smile firmly on his face. xiphos reveals that he trampled over the MEH with his treatment of Victor and Erin.
  • Write What You Know: At the time of the first chapter's writing and publication, both Victor and the author were pursuing a master's degree in human rights in a major city.
