  • Crosses the Line Twice: "'Work Experience', Part 4" ends with someone getting their hands cut off with a gory splash of red. The shock and horror of the moment is quickly blunted by the Hurricane of Puns the author dishes out afterwards in the comments.
"Speaking of themes, how do you like the handsy theme? Am I being too heavy-handed with these puns? You have to hand it to me, I'm pretty good at dropping them! Not that it's an effort, I actually have my hands full handling all these hand puns! Somebody give me a hand in carrying them! Oh, Shiggy, you want to give me a hand? Sure, I hope you don't get your hands bloody in doing so. Blood is a pain to clean out of the floor, and not all of us have Minor Banishment like Izuku. Wait, you didn't know that Izuku has Minor Banishment? Oops, now you do, but things have gone out of hand!"
  • Fridge Horror: In the first Interlude, Toshinori and Nezu discuss the "entirely hypothetical" What If? scenario that Katsura was never rescued from Tsuchigumo. The story heavily implies that this is what happened in canon, and the information Tsuchigumo got out of Katsura is what led to the USJ—and further, that if Izuku hadn't made friends with Katsura, nobody would have noticed or cared about his disappearance enough to connect the dots until it was too late. Imagining what happened to Katsura in such a scenario is awful.
  • Harsher in Hindsight: Izuku's limits on how he can use his power are determined as "He can use his power through other objects," and can cut and slice through them. For example, he could slice through someone's shoelaces if they're running on the same ground Izuku is touching. Fast forward to canon, where Shigaraki's quirk evolves, and it has almost the exact same limitations now. It also brings to mind what people said about Juxtapose!Izuku- that they're glad someone with such a pure heart has this Quirk, and not someone evil.
  • Heartwarming Moments:
    • After Tenya loses his match against Izuku, his brother dangerously overuses his Quirk to reach Yuuei so he can comfort his little brother over his loss.
    • In Chapter 26, Kensei admits that he knows Toshinori is All Might but tells the man that it's really not important. Considering the man had been suffering something of a crisis from his Secret-Identity Identity, he's deeply touched to hear someone declare he's more important than his status as the Symbol of Peace.
  • Squick: The emergency surgery on All Might. The author did quite some research on how similar operations are performed, so details of the man's chest being opened (Momo almost throws up), operated, and then stitched back aren't spared.
