• Alas, Poor Scrappy: While Magog wasn't terribly popular, hence the reason for his death in the first place, it's so horrifically brutal - eaten alive by radiation poisoning so bad his teeth are falling out on panel, then made to blow his own head open by Max - that it's not hard to feel sorry for him.
• Funny Moments: Rocket Red projects a hologram of Wonder Woman, who at the time is enduring a Laser-Guided Amnesia situation that removes her from most superheroes' minds. Since he only has a description of her costume to work off, the design he envisions is... not entirely accurate◊, having a lot more gold, a pair of high boots, and a Navel-Deep Neckline. Ice even makes a comment.
  Ice: You look like a taller Angelina Jolie.
• Tear Jerker: The Rocket Red corps member they couldn't save in issue #5.
  Captain Atom: (Flying him off to space so the explosion doesn't kill anyone else) Be brave, soldier.
